Affiliates should plan to submit a completed MSHDA Down Payment Assistance Packet at the time they apply for mortgage origination with their licensed lender – approximately 30-45 days before the target closing date.

Please be aware that the documents used to secure the federal grant funds have changed and a 2nd lien is now required to be used on the same day that the first mortgage is originated. The 2nd lien documents are populated by MSHDA and will be forwarded to the title company once a closing date has been set and a final unsigned HUD-1 / Settlement Statement has been reviewed by.
