Habitat for Humanity of Michigan (HFHM) is the state support organization for Michigan’s 76 local and regional Habitat for Humanity affiliates that serve all 83 counties in the state. HFHM’s mission is to increase the capacity of Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Michigan to build or renovate simple, decent homes in partnership with people in need.
Michigan's Habitat for Humanity affiliates have pledged to adopt sustainable, accessible and energy efficient construction methods. The Habitat for Humanity of Michigan Sustainable Building Program is dedicated to assisting affiliates to meet and exceed these standards. The initiative is led by Sustainable Building Specialist Thom Phillips.
Please take time to explore the construction support section of the website. It contains valuable and informative manuals, proceedures, techniques and information that will help your affiliate build and remodel more energy efficent, healthy, durable and accessible homes. You will also find information on programs and resources such as energy efficient upgrade and weatherization grants and links to Habitat for Humanity International's Critical Home Repair, A Brush With Kindness and Weatherization manuals.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding construction support, please contact Thom Phillips at tphillips@habitatmichigan.org or via cell phone at 269-270-2397.
