Michigan Regional Distribution Center (MRDC)

Established in July of 2008, the Michigan Regional Distribution Center (MRDC) accepts large donations of products and services throughout the state and redistributes them to Habitat for Humanity of Michigan’s more than 75 affiliates and 45 plus ReStores.  Located in Battle Creek, Michigan, it is the first of its kind in the country.

Why should companies donate?

It’s a way to put unwanted inventories to use or re-use.

MRDC accepts building supplies, furniture or almost any other product or service. If it cannot be re-sold through our network of Habitat ReStores, we can trade it for profit through our barter and trade network.

It’s a tax deduction

Donations are tax deductible and help further the mission of Habitat for Humanity to build homes in partnership with families in need.

It’s environmentally responsible

When companies donate unwanted product, they save waste hauling costs and prevent tons of waste from going to landfills. For every $1 million in product donated, 650 tons are kept out of landfills.

It furthers Habitat’s mission

All proceeds go to building simple, decent homes in partnership with families in need. When MRDC generates $1 million in product, at least 8 additional Habitat homes can be built.

It’s a way for Habitat ReStores to build their inventory

Michigan’s Habitat Restores can take advantage of the MRDC’s buying power and purchase items to put in their ReStore inventory.

It’s a way for Habitat affiliates to purchase lost cost building supplies

Michigan’s Habitat Restores can take advantage of the MRDC’s buying power and purchase building supplies often at cents on the dollar.
