- Abelard is a family foundation with a forty-year history of progressive funding. The Foundation is committed to supporting social change organizations which:
- reflect, through membership or grassroots participation, the communities in which they are based;
- expand community control over economic, social and environmental decisions affecting the community's well-being;
- build a strong informed voice on public policy issues.

- Seeking to improve the lives of the people in the communities where Bank One serves. Funds are available in three main areas:
- The F.B. Heron Foundation
- The Foundation provides grants to and investments in organizations that promote the following five wealth creation strategies for low-income families in urban and rural communities:
- increasing access to capital
- supporting enterprise development
- advancing home ownership,
- reducing the barriers to full participation in the economy by providing quality child care.
- employing comprehensive community development approaches with a strong focus on the wealth creation strategies noted above
- All first-time applicants should submit a one-or two-page letter of inquiry. If your letter is under review, staff will contact you within four weeks of assignment to a program officer to let you know whether the Foundation is requesting a full proposal.

- The Foundation provides grants to and investments in organizations that promote the following five wealth creation strategies for low-income families in urban and rural communities:
- Good Neighbor Citizenship Program
- Through the Good Neighbor Citizenship Program, the State Farm Companies Grants Program focuses on two areas: Safe Neighbors (safety) and Strong Neighborhoods (community development). The safety area includes driver/vehicle and home safety, disaster preparedness, and enhancing personal financial security.
- The community development area focuses on construction and rehabilitation of low-income housing, promotion of first-time home ownership, and advancing sustainable communities. Grants are awarded for specific programs in the giving categories described above, rather than for general operating expenses.
- Deadline: There are no application deadlines. More information about the program is available online.
- Hasbro Children's Foundation
- The Hasbro Children's Foundation supports the development and/or expansion of innovative direct service programs that improve the quality of life for disadvantaged children, from birth through age 12, their families and their communities in the areas of health, education and societal needs.
- In addition, the Foundation funds fully accessible playgrounds for children. The average award for playspaces is $10,000.
- In the past, funded projects have included those that aid at-risk students through a variety of programs focusing on out-of-school time, such as tutoring, mentoring, and recreational activities.

- The Home Depot Foundation
- The Home Depot Foundation supports nonprofit organizations in communities where company employees live and work. The Foundation focuses on four areas: affordable housing, at-risk youth, environment, disaster preparedness and response. Grants typically range from $5,000 to $25,000. The Foundation will consider only one proposal from the same organization in a 12-month period.
- Deadline: April 15, July 15, October 15, March 15. The Home Depot Foundation gives first priority to organizations that have been invited to apply for a grant. However, they will consider unsolicited requests that match their eligibility requirements. For an application or more information visit the Home Depot website.
- The Janus Foundation
- The Janus Foundation looks to establish partnerships with nonprofits that play a strong leadership role in the community and make a critical difference in providing solutions to community needs. Their focus is in three areas: at-risk youth through education, community service and volunteerism, and cultural institutions in the Denver Metro area.
- Deadline: None. Proposals are typically responded to within 90 days of receipt. Grant selection committee meets each month to evaluate all proposals. - Presbyterian Committee on the Self-Development of People
- The Presbyterian Committee on the Self-Development of People focuses its efforts on grassroots projects in which low-income people determine the problem, organize themselves to do something about their condition, and are the direct beneficiaries of the project. Intended grant recipients are people who have decided that what they are going to do will produce direct, long-term changes for their lives or communities and will directly benefit them.
- Priority is given to local projects rather than regional, statewide, or national projects. Annual grants range from $2,000 to $30,000 internationally; $10,000 to $50,000 domestically. The National Committee considers both single year and multi-year funding of qualified projects.

- Wells Fargo Housing Foundation
- The Wells Fargo Housing Foundation offers financial support to non-profit housing providers that are seeking more than volunteer assistance. Support targets housing providers that help low-income families own a home and those organizations responding to the shelter needs of the transitionally homeless.
- A one day sponsorship, available by having a team of Wells Fargo volunteers on your worksite, can offer up to $2,500! There are other sponsorships, up to $25,000.
- Deadline: Grant proposals are accepted quarterly on February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1. More information can be found at the Wells Fargo website.
