Habitat Michigan's "Brush with Kindness" program serves low-income homeowners who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes. Volunteers help local homeowners with exterior maintenance such as painting, minor exterior repairs, landscaping, weatherization and exterior clean-up.
Habitat selects the partner families based on income, need and willingness to partner. Payments made by homeowners go into a fund to help the "Brush with Kindess" program serve others in need. Habitat uses donated materials and takes no profit for their services.
The "Brush with Kindness" program is designed to ensure that families live in safe and well-maintained homes, while also revitalizing the appearance of the neighborhood and helping preserve affordable housing.
