Job Summary: The Homeowner Services & Volunteer Manager is responsible for recruiting new homeowner partners and managing relationships with current Habitat homeowners. The Homeowner Services & Volunteer Manager Chairs the HO Services Committee, providing key information regarding applicants and policy recommendations. The Homeowner Services & Volunteer Manager is also responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and scheduling individual and group volunteers, tracking and reporting volunteer data, and reporting relevant information to the Board and outside entities as required.
Homeowner Services
- Coordinates pre-qualifications with lenders, grantors and other resource and funding providers as well as coordinating services with Affiliate construction staff, HFH Michigan, MSHDA, sub-contractors and/or volunteers.
- Oversees all aspects of homeowner partner recruitment. Including publicizing and conducting informational meetings, reviewing eligibility, answering questions and taking applications.
- Processes all applications including running credit/background checks, calculating income, and filling out selection worksheet for committee.
- Coordinates and attends home visits as necessary.
- Coordinates pre-qualifications with lenders.
- Conducts orientations with all newly approved homeownership partners and their support partner.
- Conducts quarterly income checks and twice-yearly credit checks for all approved homeownership partners.
- Oversees the planning of dedications.
- Oversees all aspects of home closings.
- Writes/distributes quarterly HO newsletter.
- Develops credit counseling plan to ensure Habitat eligibility for all new credit counselees.
- Meets monthly with all credit counselees and remains in regular contact to ensure adequate progress is being made.
- Provides leadership guidance to HO Committee regarding policy, procedural, and other recommendations.
- Prepares monthly agendas and packets to be emailed in advance to HO Committee.
- Provides guidance and direction to Committee members in their role as support partners.
- Acts as Fair Housing Representative for affiliate
- Oversees policy/procedure development for affiliate's Homeowner Services to comply with legislation and enhance programming.
- Completes reporting requirements as necessary for grants, HFHI, etc.
- Supports the Development Director in grant writing
Volunteer Coordinator
- Recruits, conducts in office and onsite orientation, schedules volunteers, including sweat equity opportunities for homeowner partners.
- Meet and greet, assist with sign-in and do Habitat overview at construction sites
- Provide support for Site Supervisor when needed
- Manage applications and complete background checks for regular volunteers, including court-ordered community services and returning citizens.
- Updates volunteer related policies and procedures, obtaining Board approval as necessary.
- Prepare thank you notes/communications and send to volunteers
- Acts as liaison to college and university partners
Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in business, social work, psychology preferred or equivalent experience. Experience working with Salesforce, preferred. Previous experience in lending/mortgages, preferred.
Certifications: Willingness to obtain Qualified Loan Officer and Certified Credit Counselor credential
