2025 Power of Home Campaign: Building Stronger Communities Together

August 4, 2025/in Blog

As we wrap up another successful year of the Power of Home campaign, we’re filled with gratitude for the incredible impact made possible through our continued partnership with Consumers Energy and the generous support of donors across Michigan.

Habitat and Consumers Energy: A Partnership That Multiplies Impact

For over a decade, Habitat for Humanity of Michigan and Consumers Energy have worked hand-in-hand to make homeownership more accessible for families throughout our state. Since launching this campaign in 2013, we’ve raised an remarkable $3.3 million together—and 2025 has been no exception to this legacy of impact.

This year’s Power of Home campaign achieved another milestone, with 16 Habitat affiliates across Michigan collectively raising $300,000. Thanks to Consumers Energy’s generous matching program, which provides $1 for every $2 raised (up to $100,000 in matching funds), every donation made an even greater difference for families in need of safe, affordable housing.

The Numbers Tell a Story of Hope

The success of the 2025 campaign demonstrates the power of community collaboration:

  • 16 Habitat affiliates participated statewide
  • $200,000 raised by individual donors and fundraisers
  • $100,000 in matching funds provided by Consumers Energy
  • $300,000 total impact for Michigan families

But behind these numbers are real families whose lives have been transformed. Each dollar raised helps provide building materials, volunteer coordination, and the essential infrastructure needed to build and repair homes that become the foundation for stronger, more stable communities.

A Model of Corporate Partnership

Consumers Energy’s commitment to this campaign goes beyond financial support. Their partnership reflects a shared understanding that safe, affordable housing is fundamental to thriving communities. By providing matching funds that stretch every donor dollar further, Consumers Energy has helped amplify the generosity of thousands of supporters across Michigan.

“This partnership exemplifies what’s possible when businesses and nonprofits work together toward a common goal,” said Don Wilkinson, President and CEO of Habitat Michigan. “Consumers Energy’s consistent support has enabled us to reach more families and create lasting change in communities statewide.”

Thank You

To every donor, fundraiser, volunteer, and supporter who contributed to the 2025 Power of Home campaign—thank you. Your generosity has made it possible for more Michigan families to experience the stability, pride, and opportunity that come with homeownership.

And to our partner, Consumers Energy, thank you for your commitment to building stronger communities across Michigan. Together, we’re not just building houses; we’re building hope, stability, and brighter futures for families throughout our state.

The Power of Home campaign may be complete for 2025, but the impact of your support will be felt for years to come. Thank you for being part of this incredible mission.
