The Homes of the Brave Partnership brings Veterans and Military-connected families together with Habitat for Humanity and Veteran-serving partners to help preserve safe, sustainable homes and support long-term independence.

We approach this work as a partnership. That means listening to you, understanding your goals, and working together to identify the right people, resources, and next steps for your household.

The Partnership is designed for coordinated home preservation, not rapid-response or emergency repairs. Depending on your situation, the process may take time and may involve several community partners and resources.

The Partnership is not currently accepting new applications.

What is the Homes of the Brave Partnership?

The Partnership brings Veterans and Military-connected families together with Habitat for Humanity and Veteran-serving partners to help preserve safe, sustainable homes and support long-term independence.

We listen to Veterans and military-connected families, bring the right people and resources together, and build better pathways to stronger homes, greater independence, and thriving communities worthy of their service.

What does being a partner mean?

The Partnership works with households, not simply on their behalf.

If you are invited to apply, we will ask you to participate in the process with us. That may include staying connected, helping us understand your goals, providing information when it is needed, considering available resources, and making decisions alongside the partners supporting your household.

We want to reduce the number of times you have to explain your situation while helping the organizations involved work together around you.

Is the Partnership a rapid-response repair program?

No. The Partnership is designed to coordinate home preservation resources and develop sustainable solutions with Veterans and military-connected families.

Some situations may require coordination among Habitat for Humanity, Veteran Service Organizations (VSO), public resources, funding partners, contractors, or other community resources. Because of this, the process may take time, and not every housing need can be addressed through the Partnership.

Is the Partnership accepting applications?

The Partnership is not currently accepting new applications.

You can join the Interest List so we can reconnect with you when intake becomes available in your area.

There are no documents or additional information you need to provide at this time.

Does joining the Interest List mean I qualify?

No. The Interest List is not an application or eligibility determination.

When intake becomes available, we can explain the next steps and applicable eligibility requirements before you decide whether you would like to proceed.

Who can join the Interest List?

If you or someone in your household served in the U.S. military, you are welcome to join the Interest List.

We will learn more about your military connection and potential eligibility during the application process rather than asking you to provide that information now.

What happens next?

For now, nothing else is required from you.

When intake becomes available in your area, the Homes of the Brave Partnership or a participating Habitat for Humanity organization may contact you about the opportunity to apply.

At that point, you can learn more about the process, ask questions, and decide whether the Partnership is right for your household.
