LANSING, Mich. — September 4, 2025 — Habitat for Humanity of Michigan is proud to announce that Habitat for Humanity Hiawathaland has been named the 2025 Michigan Small Affiliate of the Year. This recognition honors the organization’s exceptional leadership, innovative practices, and dedication to serving families in its community.
The Small Affiliate of the Year Award is presented annually to a Habitat affiliate that demonstrates excellence in advancing Habitat’s mission despite limited resources, proving that even smaller affiliates can have a powerful and lasting impact. Habitat Hiawathaland was selected from nominations across the state for its outstanding commitment to building homes, fostering partnerships, and engaging volunteers to expand affordable housing opportunities.
“On behalf of the entire team at Habitat for Humanity HiawathaLand, I am deeply honored to accept the Small Affiliate of the Year Award from Habitat for Humanity Michigan. This recognition is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and community spirit of our volunteers, partners, and supporters.
“We are proud of the impact we’ve made in our local communities, but we know this achievement wouldn’t be possible without the collaboration and support of all those who believe in our mission of building homes, communities, and hope.
“Thank you to Habitat for Humanity Michigan for this incredible honor. We are excited to continue our work and look forward to what we can accomplish together in the future,” said Ann MacGregor, Executive Director
As part of the award, Habitat for Humanity Hiawathaland will receive:
- $1,500 in funding to further its mission
- Complimentary registration for one representative to attend the Affiliates in Motion (AIM) Conference
- Recognition at the 2025 AIM Awards Banquet on October 29, 2025, at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan
This honor highlights the vital role Habitat affiliates of all sizes play in addressing Michigan’s housing needs. Through collaborative efforts and community-driven programs, Habitat for Humanity Hiawathaland continues to demonstrate how smaller organizations can make a profound difference in the lives of families.
The affiliate will be honored alongside other award recipients at the AIM Conference Awards Banquet, a celebration of the collective achievements of Habitat affiliates across the state.
