September 23, 2025/in News

Sheri JonesLANSING, Mich., September 20, 2025 – Habitat for Humanity of Michigan is proud to announce that Sheri Jones, retired WLNS news anchor, esteemed journalist, and longtime Habitat supporter, will deliver the keynote address at the 2025 Affiliates in Motion (AIM) Conference.

The keynote session, scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., will inspire attendees with stories of leadership, compassion, and the transformative power of community. With a distinguished media career spanning nearly 37 years, Jones is known for her calm leadership and dedication to elevating stories of resilience and service. Beyond her work as a journalist, she has been a passionate advocate for Habitat, leading both local and international build efforts, including the 2015 Capital Region Women Build and a Habitat Global Village trip to Kenya.

Jones’ keynote will highlight her experiences as a reporter, advocate, fundraiser, volunteer builder, and global ambassador. Her storytelling, rooted in authenticity and generosity, will remind attendees of Habitat’s collective impact and the importance of every partnership in building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

In addition to her keynote, Jones will lead a follow-up session, Building Positive Media Relationships, currently scheduled for Wednesday, October 29, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. This workshop is designed for affiliate leaders and fund development professionals who want to strengthen their local media presence and partnerships. Attendees will gain practical tools to pitch stories, prepare for interviews, and turn Habitat milestones into newsworthy moments that inspire action and support.

The AIM Conference brings together Habitat for Humanity affiliate leaders, staff, and partners from across Michigan to connect, learn, and collaborate on advancing Habitat’s mission of building a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
