Habitat for Humanity of Lenawee County Building First Home with Relaunched LISD Partnership
Habitat for Humanity of Lenawee County broke ground on a new home for Kristie Zick and her family during a ceremony on Friday, September 19th in Adrian, Michigan. The house, located at 815 Howell Street in Adrian, is the first to be constructed under the relaunched partnership with the LISD TECH Center’s Residential Construction Program – a program that provides students with hands-on building experience while supporting Habitat’s mission of safe, affordable housing.
The partnership with LISD TECH Center’s Residential Construction Program and Habitat for Humanity of Lenawee County has a rich history of working together to build affordable housing for Michigan families. The partnership started over 20 years ago in 1995 and oversaw the construction of countless homes before being paused in 2020 due to the COVID 19 pandemic. The Zick home is the first built through this partnership since 2019.
Habitat leaders and representatives along with LISD students and staff, sponsors, and community members gathered to mark the occasion with future homeowner, Kristie Zick, at the ceremony.
