Habitat for Humanity of Michigan Receives $100,000 Grant from DTE Energy Foundation to Support Critical Home Repairs
Lansing, MI – September 18, 2025 – Habitat for Humanity of Michigan (HFHM) is proud to announce it has received a $100,000 grant from the DTE Energy Foundation to support its Critical Home Repair Program.
This funding will directly benefit 13 Habitat affiliates across Michigan, enabling them to complete essential home repairs for families in need. Projects include roof replacements, furnace installations, accessibility modifications, and other urgent repairs that allow homeowners to remain safely in their homes.
“The DTE Energy Foundation’s continued support is helping us transform lives across Michigan,” said Wendy Clow, Director of Operations, Habitat for Humanity Michigan. “These funds will address urgent health and safety needs, keeping families in their homes and giving them peace of mind.”
Last year’s grant from DTE Energy Foundation helped Habitat affiliates complete dozens of repairs across the state. These included new roofs, accessibility upgrades, and critical home safety improvements. One homeowner shared, “We were honestly worried that the roof was going to fall in on us. We haven’t had a peaceful night of sleep until now.”
HFHM will oversee the funding, provide training and support to affiliates, and report back to DTE Energy Foundation on the collective impact of this work.
The grant period runs from October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026 and is focused entirely on Critical Home Repair.
Habitat for Humanity of Michigan extends its deepest gratitude to the DTE Energy Foundation for powering this vital work and helping us build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.
