Clear Steps

Simple process, no surprises.

Respect & Privacy

You’re always in control – every step of the way.

Who Can Apply?

  • Veterans – Wartime, peacetime, Guard, and Reserves.
  • Surviving spouses, dependent children, Gold Star families.

Not sure if you qualify? Apply anyway, we’ll guide you.

How It Works

  • Step 1: Intake

Share your needs, provide basic documents, and decide what supports you want. You’ll always stay in control—no repairs begin until you give written approval.

  • Step 2: Assessment

A local Habitat team visits your home to review safety and repair needs. Together, we’ll gather contractor estimates and prioritize what matters most to you.

  • Step 3: Coordination

Habitat Michigan and our partners build a funding plan, confirm eligibility, and schedule your repairs. You’ll receive a written approval with a clear timeline before work begins.

  • Step 4: Completion & Follow-Up

Repairs are completed by trusted contractors, and we check back in to make sure everything was done right. You’ll also be connected to additional resources if you choose.
